Calling all energetic and enthusiastic dance lovers!
Dance Parade New York is seeking a dynamic BIPOC, gender-indifferent emcee to co-host the Grand Stand experience at the 18th Annual Dance Parade in Astor Plaza (4th Avenue & 8th St/Saint Marks). This is your chance to celebrate the vibrant tapestry of NYC's dance scene and share your passion with the crowd!
Responsibilities:
- Greet the Grand Stand audience with professionalism and infectious enthusiasm.
- Deliver a captivating introduction to the Dance Parade's history and significance.
- Enthusiastically introduce each participating dance group using provided cue cards.
- Maintain a positive and engaging atmosphere throughout the 2-hour shift.
Qualifications:
- BIPOC and/or gender-indifferent identity a plus.
- Strong stage presence and clear communication skills.
- Passion for dance and cultural diversity.
- Ability to improvise and adapt to the flow of the event.
- A big, welcoming smile and positive energy!
May 18 Shift Details:
- Call time: 12:00 pm (noon)
- Start time: 1:00 pm (following opening announcements and guest speaker)
- End time: Approximately 4:00 pm
