Dance Parade is searching for a skilled videographer to capture the energy and excitement DanceFest that follows the 19th Annual Dance Parade.
This is a fantastic opportunity to:
* Showcase your videography skills at a large-scale community event.
* Help Dance Parade secure grants with high-quality footage of parade groups.
* Provide valuable promotional content to participating parade groups.
Project Details:
Date: Saturday, May 17th
Location: Main Stage at DanceFest in Tompkins Square Park (halfway between Aves A & B on East 7th Street)
Supervisor: Cain Coleman, Festival Production Lead, cain@danceparade.org
Responsibilities:
* Capture 3-8 minute video clips of each of the main stage performance over the festival period (3-7pm) including remarks by the emcee(s), Grand Marshal Award Ceremony and approximately 40 performance groups in total.* *Edit each performance iwth a title of the Group, aka "Batala New York at DanceFest May 17, 2025"
* Deliver edited clips to DancParade group coordinators by May 30th (12 days after the parade). You will find contact information in this Google Sheet: Link to Google Sheet: [invalid URL removed]

* Transfer all intellectual property rights for the captured media to Dance Parade in perpetuity.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a videographer.
* Strong understanding of camera operation and shot composition.
* Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Compensation: $400 for 6 hr shoot 5/17 and to upload to Google Drive. Additonal $400 to send each clip link to each Parade Group Coordinator. Compensation provided after all Pardae Group Coordinators are sent links within one week of festival.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple parade groups and schedules.
- Familiarity with social media platforms for compliance checks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A passion for the arts and a dedication to promoting dance in the community.
Time Commitment:
Must attend Pre-Event production meetings on zoom and in person walk-through.
