CAMPAIGN DETAILS:

For two decades, Dance Parade New York has celebrated the city’s heartbeat—its dancers.
From classrooms to community centers, from Broadway to Bushwick, we’ve brought people together through the universal language of movement.

This Giving Tuesday and Year-End Season, our 2026 campaign celebrates 20 years of dance education, cultural production, and advocacy. Beginning Tuesday December 2, 2025, our goal is to raise $20,000 to sustain programs that awaken the human spirit and strengthen communities through dance.

Our Board of Directors will triple-match every dollar you give—so your gift goes three times as far!

DANCING THROUGH NYC:  Your donation supports Teaching Artists who bring 10-16 week dance residencies to over two dozen schools and community centers, reaching 1,500+ students across all five boroughs. These programs culminate with students performing in the 20th Annual Dance Parade & Festival on May 16, 2026—a once-in-a-lifetime experience for many who have never appeared on a stage before.

THE BEAT GOES ON! – OUR 2026 THEME

In 2026 we celebrate 20 years of Dance Parade—two decades of keeping the beat alive through education, production, and advocacy.

The Beat Goes On reminds us that dance is resilience.
It’s the drumbeat of freedom, the pulse of community, and the continuation of a movement that began as a protest to New York’s 1926 Cabaret Law. Over the years, we’ve fought for the right to dance freely—and won landmark victories in repealing discriminatory laws and advancing zoning reforms.

Now, our advocacy turns to the New York State Liquor Authority (SLA)—a remnant of Prohibition-era regulation that still treats music and dance as suspect. We believe these rules perpetuate structural racism and limit economic and artistic opportunity for marginalized communities. Through LegalizeDance.org, we continue educating lawmakers and the public to align policy with First Amendment freedoms and cultural equity.

Our work goes beyond advocacy. Every year we:

  • Educate students of all ages through residencies that foster confidence and self-expression.

  • Produce the largest celebration of dance in New York City, featuring over 10,000 dancers and 100+ styles.

  • Lift up artists by funding sound systems, floats, and artistic stipends that bring their work to the streets.

  • Advocate for laws and policies that make space for everyone to move freely.

In short, The Beat Goes On is our promise to keep the rhythm of art, equity, and freedom alive for generations to come.
