After gathering between 22nd and 21st between Park and Fifth Avenue, the Parade will kick off at 1pm. Then we will boogie our way down Broadway in history of dance order! We will drum up some African beats, shine like only the Korean, Bolivians and multiple ethnic cultures can and samba our way past Union Square and into University Place. At Eighth Street we will Salsa, Tango and Waltz East into Saint Marks Street. Pause to hula, stilt and break dance in front of a review Grandstand in Astor Place\u2013Then our House, Techno and Disco floats will have afternoon shoppers wigglin as they watch us get down in the heart of the East Village. A straight shot from there brings us to DanceFest in Tompkins Square Park.At DanceFest we will come together and celebrate watching free dance performances, be able to take free dance lessons and enjoy a Dance Party.<\/p>\n

Floats and Vehicles<\/h3>\n

THERE ARE A LIMITED NUMBER OF FLOATS AVAILABLE THIS YEAR.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dance Parade New York will have magnificent floats, plus wacky vehicles like those you might have seen in the Art Parade, Burning Man and other progressive festivals!<\/p>\n

Once your organization registers, you will receive meeting information through which you can join us to learn and ask questions about how to enter a parade float or simple audio system.\u00a0 To register a group,\u00a0click here.<\/a><\/p>\n

Either you can create your own float or Dance Parade can arrange one for you. There is a $60 fee for entering your own vehicle into the parade.\u00a0 The cost has increased this year to offset the huge cost of our insurance premiums. Whether you bring your float or use one of ours, it is necessary to read, complete and and agree to our Vehicle Entry form which is part of the dance group registration form by April 30th, 2016.\u00a0 For registered groups, you can do this by\u00a0logging into your account\u00a0<\/a>with your username & password and clicking [Register] or [Update] on your profile.<\/p>\n

DEADLINE FOR FLOATS AND VEHICLES IS APRIL 30TH 2017. ORDERING EARLIER IS BETTER\u00a0\"????\"<\/p>\n

We suggest audio systems that can be pulled in a wagon, on a tricycle, rickshaw or anything environmentally friendly! Although we can not guarantee loud sound (80db at A-rating), we do suggest an audio cart which can be pulled from the street.<\/p>\n

Dance Parade generously supports dance groups looking to perform\/celebrate dance with us. In addition to our scholarship program for Dance Group Participation Fees, we will devote a limited amount of funds necessary to discount parade floats as well as contribute our expert staff to help build them.<\/p>\n

A few more\u00a0Lady Buggies<\/a>\u00a0are available for $600\/day as well.<\/p>\n
