NYDP HISTORY: The NYDP appeared in the first Dance Parade down Broadway and Fifth Avenue May 17th 2007. Sergeant Judy Grooves rallied the first squadron of 12 NYDP officers to ticket “bystanders” who were not moving to the groove…either out of rhythm, glum or just plain standing there, were all good reasons to be written up. Judgments against guilty parties have resulted in offenders being sentenced to Dance Halls, studios or nightclubs to practice or learn a style of dance. The Dance Parade Organization currently seeks additional NYDP officers to light up the city, citing “bystanders”, inspiring folks to dance and registering folks for the next dance parade. Prospective Officers apply here and Captain DJ McDonald will get back to you, VOLUNTEER HERE!!! ![]() NYDP 2012
