Seeking Education Outreach Coordinator

Dance Parade, Inc, the 501(c)3 non-profit organization that produces New York’s 10th Annual Dance Parade and Festival, is developing its community engagement programs. We seek a proven professional who is able to commit a minimum of 10 hours per week to build, market and administrate its education program to New York City schools, community based organizations and senior centers.

Priority Tasks include:

  • Actively developing relationships with potential clients and expanding current partnerships

  • Training, placement and evaluation of teaching artists

  • Scheduling and promoting dance performances and workshops

  • Assisting in creating curriculum, grant writing, reporting and program evaluations.

  • Participation in Dance Parade’s Steering Committee

The ideal Community Engagement Coordinator will have:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • The ability to work independently and exceptional initiative

  • Strong social networking ability and affinity

  • Experience teaching, creating dance curriculum or in school administration

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Powerful drive and motivation

  • Great attitude and passion for dance!!!!


Type of work: Independent Contractor will be offered a written contract that specifically outlines scope of work and deliverables. A nominal hourly compensation plus a back-end bonuses of up to $20,000/year.

Reports to: Executive Director of Dance Parade, Inc. in weekly progress meetings to be conducted in person or on conference calls.

Location: Dance Parade, Inc. uses donated a mixture of donated office space and conference rooms. This position would involve work at individual’s home with occasional meetings in Manhattan. There is no travel expected outside New York City.
