Dance Parade New York has once again been asked to participate in New York’s largest holiday festival by adding Dance Parade veterans Buglisi Dance Theatre and Fraternidad Cultural Incallajta N.Y. to the diverse entertainment roster. Join us as we usher in the holiday season in true Dance Parade spirit on Monday, December 2nd at 5:30 in Lincoln Square for Winter’s Eve!

Enjoy free world-class musical performances, street festivities and more at great spaces throughout Lincoln Square! As you walk along the streets of the neighborhood, you will hear music resonating from the unique instruments and voices of a variety of talented performers as this Upper West Side neighborhood is transformed into a winter wonderland!

Winter’s Eve, New York’s largest holiday festival, will kick off at 5:30pm with the Upper West Side’s only tree lighting ceremony at Dante Park (Broadway and 63rd Street).

Fourteenth Annual Winter’s Eve at Lincoln Square

On Monday, December 2, 2013 the Lincoln Square Business Improvement District and presenting sponsor Time Warner will host the Fourteenth Annual Winter’s Eve at Lincoln Square – New York’s largest holiday festival! Join Tony Award-winning, Broadway legend Brian Stokes Mitchell, Rosie’s Theater Kids, Frank London’s Klezmer Brass All-Stars and WABC-TV’s Sade Baderinwa as we welcome the holiday season and light up the Upper West Side with an evening of music, food, dancing and fun for everyone.

ENTERTAINMENT

There will be over 20 live, free performances featuring Frank London’s Klezmer Brass All-stars, Brianna Thomas’ Jazz Quartet, world renowned DJ David Chang at the Winter’s Eve TD Bank Dance Party, GRAMMY nominated Brooklyn-based children’s band The Pop Ups at Kids’ Central, and Big Apple Circus, Kate Davis presented by Jazz at Lincoln Center and Ice Sculpting at Time Warner Center, and that’s not all!

Lincoln Square’s sidewalks and public spaces will come alive with music, performers, processional groups, jugglers, stilt-walkers and more, making for a festive fun-filled evening along the streets of this dynamic Upper West Side neighborhood.

FOODIESHOLIDAY CHEER

Over 30 of Lincoln Square’s finest restaurants and eateries will offer food tastings at nominal cost ($1-$4) at three separate outdoor locations from 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm.

Dozens of local stores and neighborhood institutions will host activities and holiday cheer throughout the evening.

WHEN: Monday, December 2, 2013, 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm, Rain, Snow or Shine!

WHERE: The celebration begins with the lighting of the Upper West Side Holiday Tree in Dante Park at Broadway & 63rd Street and continues along Broadway from Time Warner Center to 68th Street.

BY SUBWAY: Take the 1, A, B, C, or D train to 59th Street/Columbus Circle or the 1 train to 66th Street and Broadway.

logoprepThe Actors Fund, whose Chair is Brian Stokes Mitchell, will be a new charitable partner of Winter’s Eve.  The Actors Fund is a national human services organization that helps everyone-performers and those behind the scenes-who works in performing arts and entertainment, helping more than 13,500 people directly each year, and hundreds of thousands online. Serving professionals in film, theatre, television, music, opera, radio and dance, The Fund’s programs include social services and emergency financial assistance, health care and insurance counseling, housing, and employment and training services. With offices in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, The Actors Fund has-for 131 years-been a safety net for those in need, crisis or transition.

Admission to Winter’s Eve is free, but event attendees are encouraged to bring and donate gently used or new coats of all sizes to Dante Park at 63rd Street and Broadway as part of the 25th Annual New York Cares Coat Drive.
